unitthe smallest of communication languages that determine the meaning of
sentences. A speakerwho want to express something to the partner said, then who
wantshe said it was the meaning or purpose of the sentence. How to convey
meaningor purpose, speakers must pour it in the form of speech acts. Speech

to consider the various possibilities of speech acts according to positionspeakers,
speech situations, and possible structures in that language. Speakertend to use
language as needed in communication. Language selectionby speakers more
directed at communicative language. Through contextthe situation is clear that
a communication event can run smoothly.The term speech act arises because in
saying something a speakernot merely expressing utterances, but can contain the
intention behindutterance. Speech is a sentence spoken by a speaker while
beingcommunicate. Austin (in Nababan, 1992: 29) states that usuallyutterances
whose formal form is a statement, usually giving information,but there are also
other functions, namely those that do a language actcertain.
